YFPMDdO unmasks deception of NPA-linked political groups to Davao Oro youth voters

NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro — With only a few days left before the 2022 National and Local Elections, the Youth for Peace Movement Davao de Oro (YFPMDdO) has launched an online platform entitled " 'Tid Talks: Exposing Whites on Red" on May 3 to aware the province's youth voters about a few partylists running in the elections who are linked with the terrorist group, New People's Army. The 2-hour talk was organized by the YFPMDdO together with the Oplan Pagbabago-Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) of Davao de Oro, Provincial Information Office, and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Davao de Oro, broadcasted live via Zoom and Facebook. It was also hosted by Jess Elton Largado, YFPMDdO President, which was viewed by more than 1.5 thousand Facebook audiences as of this writing and attended by 50 youth both via Zoom and in the physical venue. "Ang atong purpose karon, aron ma-inform ang mga kabatan-unan ug kitang tanan ug tabangan mo nga mu-decide kung kinsa or unsa nga Partylist ang inyong botohan," Largado said during the opening. During the talk, guest speaker Kurt Russell Sosa alias "Ka-Ugnay", unmasked the deception of what he called the "KABAG Partylist" and their relationship to the CPP-NPA-NDF based on his personal experience as a former high-ranking member of the said terrorist organization. He said that KABAG Partylist stands for Kabataan, Anakbayan, Bayan Muna, Act Teachers, and Gabriela Partylists, which in Congress call themselves the MAKABAYAN Bloc. Sosa revealed that the said partylists are under the control of the Communist Party of the Philippines or the CPP and their main existence is to overthrow the government. "The KABAG and the New People's Army are all orchestrated by the Communist Party of the Philippines. Kumbaga CPP, at the end of the day, will be in control," he said. "CPP and all of its front organizations - naa ba nay gina suportahan na politiko or armado ba na, partylist ba na or mass organizations ba na - they want to violently overthrow the government's system in the Philippines and declare dictatorship of the proletariat," the speaker added. As a former member of the KABAG Partylist, Sosa also shared how they manipulate voters, most especially the youth, during elections by supporting politicians and infiltrating their groups. He also urged the audience to stop patriotizing the KABAG Partylist as they are supporters of the communist insurgency. Meanwhile, Jess Elton Largado expressed that the said platform is YFPMDdO's support to the government as concerned members of society, primarily on peace and security. "The peace and development efforts of government can be fully realized if those who represent the people in the legislative branch are supportive of its efforts. This is why we have organized this talk to educate the voters about the anti-government groups wooing for their votes," he emphasized.
