BACKGROUND

Get to know our humble beginning and why we came into being.

WHO ARE WE?

The Youth for Peace and Development Movement Philippines (YFPDMP) is a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registered Non-stock and Nonprofit organization that advocates peace and development through youth empowerment.

We are composed of Volunteers aged 15 to 35 years old from different corners of the country who understand that since we are one of the most vulnerable sectors when conflicts arise, it is only right that we also stand and use our idealism, gifts, and enthusiasm to promote peace and help resolve these conflicts.

We are products of the Youth Leadership Summit - a one-stop-shop training that started in 2002, where we are being molded to become leaders and peace-builders. We are guided by our Core Values of Leadership, Good-Citizenship, and Patriotism.

WHY ARE WE HERE?

As a right, the 1987 Constitution provides that “the State recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation-building and shall promote and protect their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being.”

As a move, we are answering the call of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal when he asked: “where are the youth who will consecrate their golden hours, their illusion, and their enthusiasm to the welfare of the native land?”

WHAT IS OUR GOAL?

We are dedicated to pursuing our vision of “attaining peace and development through youth empowerment” by becoming an organization that champions peace, promotes volunteerism, unity in diversity, and a positive environment.

HOW CAN WE DO THIS?

Our programs and practices are guided by YFP's 4 Thematic Advocacies: Organizational Development, Youth Development, Community Development, and Peace Communication.

However, we believe that this cannot be achieved without the convergence and support of groups and individuals like you. That is why we need you.

Together, let us empower and transform our youth into peace-builders!
