YFPMDdO Boosts Org Management Skills of Volunteers thru Training

COMPOSTELA, Davao de Oro - Youth for Peace Movement Davao de Oro (YFPDdO) has unlocked another door to hone the skills of its volunteers on organizational management as it implemented another Basic Organization Managers Training (BOMT) on December 18-19, 2021, at the Astoria Mountain Resort in Brgy. Ngan here.

The Organizational Development (OrgDev) Unit of YFPMDdO hosted the event with a total of 20 fully vaccinated OrgDev volunteers in attendance.

Aside from boosting the management capabilities of the volunteers, the said training also aims to promote organizational stability by allowing the participants to understand their main tasks as Org Managers and how they could help sustain the organization, following its latest Organizational Management System (OMS).

The program began through a lecture from Bren D. Cabatingan, the former President of the YFPMDdO and currently the National PeaceCom Head of the Youth for Peace and Development Movement Philippines (YFPDM) as he thoroughly discussed the process of YFP's OMS.

It was followed by a workshop where the participants were grouped into five to craft and present a task organizing plan which will be used to provide tasks among different units or staff officers of the organization, in support of the implementation of its major programs.

It was also graced by the former President of the YFPMDdO and now the National President of YFPDMP, Alexis Micutuan, who reminded all the participants of the roles they play as organization managers and their relevance to the organization's growth.

The second day of the training highlighted the preparation for the 6th Gawad Karangalan sa Limang Natatanging Wagi (KALINAW), the annual recognition ceremony of YFPMDdO, as Presidents and OrgDev Coordinators of each municipal chapter presented their accomplishment reports from 4th Quarter of 2020 to 3rd Quarter of 2021 to be validated by the Provincial OrgDev.

During the validation, the Provincial OrgDev Coordinator, Elaine Marie Cabatingan, scrutinized the accomplishments and requirements of the presentors based on the criteria set by the YFPMDdO in its 2021 Dashboard.

The nomination of outstanding volunteers also happened during the training as the representatives of each municipal chapter and the present officers of the YFPMDdO Provincial Council weighed in their bets for the Top 10 nominees of Dakilang Kasapi and Pinuno for 2021, which will be awarded during the 6th Gawad KALINAW.

The next phase on identifying the final five awardees will proceed in the upcoming days and will be announced during the 6th Panagtapok ug Pakighimamat (PUP) - the General Assembly of YFPMDdO.

Meanwhile, the BOMT was made possible through the support of the 1001st Infantry Brigade, the 66th Infantry Battalion, Provincial Local Government Unit headed by Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, and participation of the OrgDev volunteers.

Since the start of the pandemic, the need to upholdOrganizational Development has grown because of itsrelevance to the goal ofYFPMDdO of transforming its municipal chapters into Credible YFP organizations.

Thus, the conduct of the Basic Organization Managers Training has pushed more volunteers to improve the performance of their respective chapters to contribute to the said goal.
