RADJAH BUAYAN, Maguindanao - Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) PUKAW Inc. has finally launched its new program dubbed as "Youth Hub for Peace" through an Orientation, Data Gathering and Engagement with the youth here on January 13, 2022.
A total of 90 Youth from the 11 barangays of Radjah Buayan were convened to attend the event to identify the necessary skills of the participants and link them to possible programs that will be implemented through their gathered data.
During the orientation, the participants were introduced to the main goal of the program and the possible activities they could join in according to their skill sets. The facilitators also conducted an initial assessment of the participants' skills that they wish to enhance, harness, and develop.
The said programs will be designed by the YFPM PUKAW and will be linked to possible partners that will help in their implementation.
The Orientation, Data Gathering, and Engagement is only the first of the several programs of the "Youth Hub for Peace" which aims to address conflicts within the SPMS Box by cultivating the youth as peace advocates and harnessing their potential to become productive individuals.
It is also designed to cater to the graduates of the Youth Leadership Summit organized by the YFPM PUKAW Inc., and different battalions of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Philippine Army to provide an avenue where the youth could participate in building peace and resilient communities.
The SPMS Box is a group of areas in the province of Maguindanao where people are vulnerable due to the series of armed conflicts. It stands for Shariff Aguak, Pagatin (Datu Saudi Ampatuan), Mamasapano, and Shariff Saydona.
The first stage of the "Youth Hub for Peace" was organized by the YFPM PUKAW, Inc., funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) - Philippines and the European Union, and in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Radjah Buayan.
