YFP Leaders Reorient Volunteers in NegOr



GUIHULNGAN CITY, Negros Oriental - The Youth for Peace Movement Northern Negros (YFPM NNC) Officers extended a hand to their sister Chapter in Negros Oriental after facilitating the 1st Volunteer Orientation and Designation (VOD) for the YFP members in the said province on July 24, 2021 at Brgy. Poblacion, Guihulngan City here.


The one-day orientation was spearheaded by the YFP Visayas Area and 62nd Infantry Battalion, and supported by the Local Government Unit of Guihulngan City.


A total of 13 youth leaders who were all YLS graduates from Guihulngan and Canlaon Cities last 2018 from City, Provincial to Regional Levels joined the said event.


Some of the discussed topics in the orientation were the Roles of the Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) Graduates as volunteers of the organization and the establishment of a YFP Chapter in the 1st District of Negros Oriental.


Highlighted also was the crafting of the Youth Development Plan, Social Media platforms, and Income-Generating activities during the workshop segment.


Present in the program was Youth for Peace and Development Movement Philippines, Inc. (YFPDMP) Vice President for Membership, Mr. Apolonio D. Macadaya, wherein he shared the advantages of being in the organization.


He also encouraged the attendees to continue supporting the organization in its vision of attaining peace and development by empowering the youth.


Mr. Fermar Macatiguib, the President of YFPDMP Region 7 likewise sent his virtual message to welcome the participants and mentioned the organization's development plan, emphasizing the importance of helping the government's effort to empower the youth.


Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President as well as YLS Alumni, Hon. Jose Luis Molas expressed his excitement in pursuing the establishment of the YFP Chapter in the 1st District of Negros Oriental and later in the whole Province.


He also pledged to endorse the plan to the SK Federation to support its realization.


Meanwhile, 2LT Mary Liza Joy De Guzman, the Civil-Military Operation Officers of 62IB, shared her gratitude to the support of the YFP leaders, especially the Northern Negros, for their efforts in developing their communities and committed that they will continue to do their part to help the people of Negros Oriental, especially the youth.
