UNDP taps YFP Chapter as Youth Partner anew in Maguindanao



COTABATO CITY - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has once again tapped the Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) PUKAW Inc. as one of its partners to address pressing issues in the Province of Maguindanao, especially on Violent Extremism.


On April 30 to May 1, 2021, the UNDP conducted a workshop at Carlito's Hotel and Restaurant, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat together with various partners in Maguindanao and Upi Complex.


This was attended by the heads and representatives of UNIPHIL, FBL, AFP, IPs, MSSD, including the YFPM PUKAW.


The event aimed at identifying the causal effect of the frequent conflicts in Maguindanao and Upi, and at the same time, look for possible interventions to address these issues.


It was one of the many programs and through peacebuilding projects that will be conducted by UNDP for 2021.


As an official partner youth organization of UNDP for Maguindanao Province, the YFPM PUKAW, Inc, is also set to launch its programs for this year with the help of the said international agency.


It can be recalled that UNDP has tapped the organization to spearhead and facilitated a project called Project AMAL for Ustads and Ulama last January this year and the upcoming event called Maguindanao Music Peace Festival which is set on May 20-23, 2021.


Meanwhile, the two organizations are planning to implement more sustainable programs for the youth this year that will provide an avenue for development and participation.
