DAVAO CITY - Leaders of Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) TALBOS and YFPM PUKAW met on February 28, 2021, via Zoom to discuss and settle some concerns in their areas of responsibility, particularly under Region 12.
It was attended by Sittie Aisha Tawan, Youth for Peace and Development Movement Philippines (YFPDMP) Internal Vice-President (VP); Evadyne May Dela Cerna, YFPDMP External VP, and TALBOS President; Joharie Kabugatan, PUKAW President; John Mark Rufino, South Cotabato President; Jayron Romanillos, Sarangani President; Eunice Dinopol, Sarangani Secretary; Mark Gonzales, Gensan President; and Datunot Abdullah, PUKAW Peace Communication Head.
Both parties ended the meeting with a mutual agreement and committed to further strengthen their alliance for peace and youth empowerment in Mindanao.
They have also expressed support to their activities, especially at the Regional level, by complementing and providing coordination assistance with different stakeholders in each other's area.
TALBOS and PUKAW are both Regional Chapters operating under the YFPDMP, Inc.
They have been good partners since their inception and are continually exchanging ideas and notable practices not only to improve both organizations but also mutually contribute to lasting peace in Mindanao.
"Our meeting today is very timely for this year's theme which calls us to uphold the 'culture of collaboration.' We believe that this is not only essential to our external partners but also among our brothers and sisters in the organization," Evadyne dela Cerna said.
"We are hopeful that after this meeting, more activities will follow that will benefit the youth of Mindanao, despite the pandemic," she added.
