Rajah Buayan youth undergo CapDev training under YFPM PUKAW Program



ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – Some 90 youth who are residents of Rajah Buayan in Maguindanao underwent a 2-day Capacity Development training under the Youth Hub for Peace Program of the Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) PUKAW, Inc. on January 22-23, 2022 at Brgy. Sapakan, Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao.


The participants were select graduates of the said organization's Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) from the 11 barangays of Rajah Buayan who are 15 to 25 years old.


The said event was the first component of the Youth Hub for Peace program initiated by YFPM PUKAW to provide the youth with needed knowledge and skills on peaceful engagements with other members of their community.


Through a module entitled "Building Capacity I" which focuses on the topics about peacebuilding, mediation, and community resilience, among others, the said program also aims to help build the confidence of the participants in dealing with different stakeholders and in navigating community level issues as well as other concerns.


Meanwhile, YFPM PUKAW, Inc. President, Joharie M. Kabugatan expressed his gratitude to the active involvement of the participants and the strong support of the Local Government Unit of Rajah Buayan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Philippines towards the activity.


He also assured that through the Youth Hub for Peace, YFPM PUKAW, the possibility of decreasing the number of RIDO and armed conflicts in the municipality shall be attained.


This Capacity Development training is only one of the five major components of the Youth Hub for Peace Program being supported by the UNDP Philippines and the LGU Rajah Buayan.
