POINTY runs 2nd summit for Malitbog youth

MALITBOG, Bukidnon — Collaborative efforts of Propelling Our Inherited Nations Through our Youth (POINTY) Inc. Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental Chapters, 58th Infantry Batallion (IB), and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malitbog, Bukidnon spearheaded the conduct of a three-day Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) at Monte Shannah's Farm, Sitio Lake, San Luis, Malitbog, Bukidnon on April 9-11, 2021.


The summit, with the theme: "Kabatan-onan: Paglaum ug Pangandoy para sa malinawong Munisipyo ug Komunidad," aims to empower thr youth through leadership trainings and increased their awareness on the recruitment schemes of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG).


This year's YLS gathered a total of 100 young locals from different areas of the said municipality.


The delegates also participated in lectures on Youth for Peace Building Process, Disaster Reduce Risk Management and First Aid Preparedness, COVID-19 Health Related Protocols, Gender and Development Orientation, IPRA Laws, E0 70 (ELCAC), Youth Opportunities and Livelihood Orientation, Project Proposal and Action.


They were also engaged in team building activities, role-playing, poster-making, colllage making, mental and physically-related activities, and cultural night activities.


Meanwhile, Mark Anthony M. Armamento, POINTY Inc. Malitbog Cluster President, expressed his gratitude to those who made the activity successful and to the youth of Malitbog for their exemplary participation.


Lt. Col. Ricky L. Canatoy, Commanding Officer of 58IB, also gave emphasis on the integral role of the Youth in their respective communities.


"Youth are the motherland's hope. As the next generation's leaders, the nation's future is in your hands," he said.


Before ending, Crill Joy Paligsa, COO Vice President of POINTY Inc. challenged the young locals.


"Venture out into your respective areas and speak up to inspire one another," she said emphasizing that their voice will be a stepping stone to help develop the nation.
