BUTUAN CITY - In pursuit of a lifelong and sustainable peace in Caraga Region, the 15th Regional Community Defense Group (15RCDG) and Propelling Our Inherited Nation Through our Youth Incorporated (POINTY Inc.) inked a Memorandum of Understanding on July 17, 2021 at 15RCDG, Brgy. Bancasi, Butuan City.
The memorandum aims is to strengthen the partnership of both organizations in conducting and supporting their peace-building activities in Caraga Region.
"With our mandated mission and your vision, together we can create something more than a legacy," said Ltc Joseph Bagaoan, the Executive Officer of 15RCDG said during his welcome address.
The program was graced by the Officers of 15RCDG such as Col Diosdado E Peji, the Group Commander, Ltc. Bugaoan, and Maj Frances Belarmino, the Operations Officer; POINTY Inc. Officers led by Roberto A. Laurente Jr., Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Engr. Christian Kier M. Betito, COO President; and the Directors and Chief Clerks of the 4th Civil Defence Centers in Region 13.
Meanwhile, Engr. Christian Kier M. Betito for granting the organization a haven for planning and sustainment of peace and development activities, and a place where they can call home.
"During the pandemic there is no certainty that the recruitment of the youth to join the armed struggle have stopped," he said.
He also encouraged the youth leaders of POINTY Inc. to continue the advocacy despite the challenges they come up against.
Col. Peji also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the organization for initiating a momentous signing memorandum of understanding.
He likewise emphasized that war cannot be won through figthing, but by subduing the enemies to win peace.
"The only way to find peace is through understanding," he added.
