BUTUAN CITY – Believing that Christmas becomes more meaningful when we give more rather than receive, the Propelling Our Inherited Nation Through Our Youth Incorporated (POINTY Inc.), initiated a donation drive entitled "Project INAGAKAY" for the victims of Typhoon Odette at Brgy. Danao, Surigao City, on December 26, 2021.
A total of 200 families in the said area benefited from the relief operation wherein they received goods that contain food packs and used clothing.
The said project was mainly crafted by the officers of the POINTY Inc. Central Office with two objectives: to help the highly damaged families affected by Typhoon Odette and counter the false information perpetrated by the Communist Party of thr Philippines (CPP) against the government amid its anniversary celebration.
POINTY Inc. Agusan del Norte Chapters composed of the Municipalities of Carmen, Nasipit, Buenavista, Magallanes, and Butuan City served as the frontline in repacking the goods, consolidating the used clothing and in facilitating the distribution of the donations to the selected area.
Alongside the volunteers of POINTY Inc. Agusan del Norte Chapter, the Youth, Peace and Security Caraga Coalition also co–facilitated the donation drive.
Meanwhile, the President of the POINTY Inc. Central Office, Engr. Christian Kier M. Betito, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people who made extra efforts in extending their help to the victims of Typhoon Odette through the organization.
“I would like to extend my warmest thank you sa lahat ng mga tao na nag-abot mapa items man o pera upang maging kasangkapan na makapag-abot tayo ng tulong sa mga taong nasalanta ng bagyon Odette.” he said.
