BUTUAN CITY - Young volunteers of Propelling Our Inherited Nation Through our Youth (POINTY) Inc. expressed love to the children of the Former Rebels (FR) through a gift giving and feeding activity as an early Heart's Day Celebration held at the Heaquarters of 23rd Infantry "Masigasig" Battalion, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte last February 5, 2021.
In partnership with the Masigasig Troopers, 4th Civil Military Operations (4CMO) Battalion, and other financial and in-kind donors, 50 young recipients were given educational supplies, toys and meals.
Clothes and food supplies were also given to the parents of the young dependents.
The gift-giving and feeding activity aimed to reach out the former members of the New People's Army who have already returned to the folds of society and their young dependents.
The activity was graced by Ms. Jam Magno together with her son Tony. She said that through the activity she wants to teach her son Tony [and the youth] the values of a genuine servant leader and love for the country through serving the community.
"Love your father. Love your mother. And love your country, the Philippines," she expressed during her message to the children and their parents.
Meanwhile, the Central Office President of POINTY Inc. Engr. Christian Kier M. Betito, expressed his gratitude to the partners and cheerful donors of the said activity.
"In behalf of POINTY Inc., we love you especially your children. Our love for you and your children is our expression of what we advocate, peace. We are part of one community and we cannot achieve peace if we don't work hand-in-hand. Magtinabangay ta! [Let's help one another!]," he conveyed to the FRs.
With the said youth-led activity, POINTY Inc. desires to inculcate the advocacy of peace and channel positive activism among the Filipino youth.
