MABINI, Davao de Oro - After conducting a series of youth-led initiatives for peace in the calendar year of 2021, the Youth for Peace Movent (YFPM) Mabini Chapter concluded the year through its Annual General Assembly dubbed as "Pakiglamibigit ug Pakighimamat (PUP) 2021," which took place last December 11-12, 2021 at Buridor Beach Resort, Tagnanan here.
With the 51 participating Youth for Peace members coming from the 11 barangays of the municipality of Mabini, the PUP was able to serve its main purpose which is to gather all graduates of the Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) from 1st to 6th batch, strengthen their rapport, and reiterate their responsibilities as volunteers.
On the first day, the participants were engaged in various team-building activities that test both their physical and interpersonal skills. They were divided into groups and each group was composed of diverse participants in terms of barangay, gender, batch, and, age.
Enjoyment and fellowship fuelled up through the Socialization Night that happened later on the same day.
Accomplishments for CY 2021 and plans for CY 2022 of the chapter were also laid down during the 2nd day of activity, which went through an evaluation process.
An election for new set of municipal officers followed thereafter wherein Ronnie Mark Buntag was elected as President, Yasser Facundo as Vice-President, Paul Samonte as Corresponding Secretary, Niel Saribano as Recording Secretary, Ralph Ryan Go as Treasurer, Rasul Macaguba and Harron Rashed Madjine as Business Managers, and Berlen Mipaña as Auditor.

It can be recalled that the YFPM Mabini was one of the two chapters conferred with a Credible Status (first level of Innovation Trail) by the Provincial Council of YFPM Davao de Oro last 2019, during the 5th Gawad KALINAW.
This indicates that the said organization is one of the top-performing chapters under the YFPM Davao de Oro based on the standards set-forth by the Youth for Peace and Development Movement Philippines (YFPDMP) in its Organizational Management System.
This was also the main objective of the activity, which is to re-organize the chapter through an election of new officers who will sustain and implement its peace-building initiatives.
Meanwhile, Hon. Reynaldo L. Dayanghirang, the Municipal Mayor of Mabini who served as the Geust of Honor and Speaker during the Closing Ceremony, urged the organization to continue its unique initiatives for peace and development as part of the Municipal Peace and Order Council representing the youth sector.
