RIZAL, Cagayan — Youth For Peace (YFP) Cagayan conducted its first-ever Zinundungan Valley Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) with a theme, “YOUTHnited Rizal: Leveraging the Power of Youth to be a Peacekeeper and PeaceBuilder in the grassroots community,” last July 25-28 at Barangay Masi here.
The said summit aims to empower, nurture, and awaken the 58 youth participants to become leaders and peace-builders through various topics and team-building activities.
The event was made possible through the support of the 17th Infantry Battalion, 5th Civil Military Operations Charlie Company, 202nd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Local Government Unit of Rizal, Barangay Officials of Masi, Department of Education, Saint Francis Academy, and Philippine Information Agency Region 2.
In hiss message, Rizal Mayor Atty. Joel A. Ruma, challenged the participants to step up as leaders, share the lessons that they gained, and replicate the values of the organization in their respective communities.
Meanwhile, the summit concluded with the induction of a new set of officers for the YFP Rizal, and a symbolic boodle fight that upholds unity and solidarity among different stakeholders and sectors in the municipality.
