MAKILALA, Cotabato — Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) Davao del Sur is now set in contributing to attaining peace and development over the next three years as it recently concluded its province-wide Planning-Workshop on April 30 at the Headquarters of the Philippine Army's 39th Infantry Battalion (39IB) here. Attended by various YFPM leaders across the province of Davao del Sur, the activity aimed to empower and solidify the goals and objectives of the organization through the crafting of a framework and plan that will be implemented in a three-year span. The workshop also highlighted the interrelation and materialization of the organization's Four Thematic Advocacies which are Youth Development, Community Development, Organization Development, and Peace Communication. Lieutenant Colonel Ezra Balagtey, the Commanding Officer of the 39IB, assisted the workshop participants by providing insights and concepts to help them better in understanding the whole idea and objectives of their plans. He also emphasized the vital role of having a road map to evaluate the organization’s status in terms of its work, projects, and programs. The 39IB head further expressed the significance of relevant and timely programs that will help the youth organization in its advocacy for peace and development. Meanwhile, the workshop was made possible through the overall support and assistance of the 39IB which allowed the organization's leaders to pursue significant programs for the benefit of the youth and vulnerable communities.
