Cotabato Peace Champions receive recognition for active volunteerism

MAKILALA, Cotabato - The Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) Cotabato Chapter was awarded a plaque of appreciation in recognition of its efforts as an active partner of the Cotabato Provincial Government and its several Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Councils with their Linggo ng Kabataan activities and other peace initiatives.

The award was given during the culmination of the Provincial Linggo ng Kabataan on December 10, 2021 at The Governor's Farm, Barangay Luvimin, Kidapawan City, Cotabato.

Judy O. Selloriquez, the Provincial Adviser of YFPM Cotabato, expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government of Cotabato for the honor it has given to the organization.

"For the past 5 years of the organization's existence in the province, this has been the first time we have received the highest recognition from the provincial government – by receiving this plaque. It reminds us of the collective efforts, dedication and sacrifices of our volunteers and partners. This inspired us to do greater things in the name of peace and development," he said.

He also said that the award is a manifestation of the invaluable service rendered by the YFPM members through sheer volunteerism and compassion.

Historically, the YFPM Cotabato Chapter began in 2016 and was established as an organization in 2017 with its partner unit, 39th Infantry "Smash 'Em" Battalion.
