Community YLS Empowers Youth in Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya

AMBAGUIO, Nueva Vizcaya - The Youth for Peace Ambaguio, in partnership with the Local Government Units of Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya and Asipulo, Ifugao, and the different local and national agencies, has once again empowered new peace-builders as it conducted the Barangay Youth Leadership Summit - Batch 2 at Natcak National High School in Asipulo, Ifugao on February 26-28, 2021.

It was attended by 98 participants coming from different youth sectors such as the In-School Youth, Out-of-School Youth, and Sangguniang Kabataan of the two neighboring towns.

The community summit with the theme "Youth of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow" was done through series of lectures, workshops, and team-building activities that aim to strengthen the camaraderie among the participants and unleash the leadership and good-citizenship in them.

It also aims to give the youth a wider perspective on the current issues that hinder peace, progress, and the role of youth in nation-building.

Likewise, the discussions gave more emphasis on youth infiltration and recruitment of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG).

One of the summit's highlights was the Cultural Night which gave the participants an avenue to express their talents through showcasing their culture.

The three-day YLS ended with a Peace Rally which served as a channel to let the people know that the youth of Ambaguio and Asipulo are united for peace and development.
