DAVAO DE ORO — The Bayanihan Para Sa Karunungan (BPSK) Program of the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro has partnered with the Youth For Peace Movement (YFPM) Davao de Oro in steering a 1-day Peace-Building Module Development for Project E-Ddokasyon, held virtually on June 16, 2021.
The online workshop aims to craft a learning module that will empower the children in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) and identified Conflict-Affected Areas (CAA) on becoming peace-loving members of their community.
The module is also eyed to instill among the participating children the values of patriotism and peace through the integration of peace-leaning activities in the said module.
Present in the activity was Bernadette Festin, YFPMDdO Provincial President, Edu Macabatas, one of the leading staff of BPSK, Provincial Federation Officers and Municipal Presidents of YFPMDdO, and other personnel of the BPSK program.
With the module crafted based on the YFPM's previous module, particularly that of the Youth Leadership Summit program, it is expected to provide a one-stop-shop learning that is suitable for students in grades 5 and 6.
Likewise, to avoid the spread of the Corona virus disease while conducting the program, it will transpire as soon as the community quarantine will be lifted.
Both the BPSK and YFPM also assured that the series of activities will be regulated with physical distancing and bio-safe team building activities.
Meanwhile, Bernadette Festin has committed that the YFPMDdO will continually support the Provincial Government in building a sustainable and peaceful environment for the children and youth of Davao de Oro with the convergence of her organization and the Bayanihan Para Sa Karunungan Program.
